"Speeding and moving traffic violations are Suwanee's toughest issues," said police Capt. Janet Moon, who has worked on the project for the past year. "We could write red-light tickets in Suwanee throughout the day."

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has said the cameras cut by 30 percent the number of T-bone crashes that often result in serious injuries. Red-light running drops by as much as 50 percent.
